Salutations to our members, associates, and visitors to this site.
Being elected to the position of President for the Broward County ACF chapter is a great honor. I served as vice president under the leadership of Chef John Masi. Together, over our four years, we, along with the other officers, grew the membership and offered educational and social opportunities to members new and old. Moving forward, I plan to move the Broward County ACF chapter to a new level. We will focus on growing our membership with memberships drives, mailings and through our quarterly meetings. Vendors and guests of our meeting are prime candidates for membership. Not only will this build our chapter, but it will also increase our monetary standing.
Our world is ever changing. We are still dealing with the outbreak of Covid and its variants. We have settled in the new normal and continue with our lives. Most recently, a war has reared its ugly head reminding us that democracy may always be challenged. As citizen of this planet, we need to ensure that every woman and man is treated with respect and allowed every freedom.
Food is a universal language. We represent that language as a chapter however we are only a part of the greater presence that is the National American Culinary Federation. The Broward County ACF chapter is keen on becoming more active nationally as it will only benefit us locally. We have begun by partnering with our neighboring chapters. Miami-Dade and Palm Beach have shared their meeting with us and ours with them. This is a great opportunity to grow ACF in southern Florida. I look forward to working with our board, Jaynee Peterson, Shantel Wright and Kenny Tang, along with John Masi as Chairperson, in meeting these goals. We still are looking for someone to take the role of Secretary – a vital part of this team. Become part of our team.
